A Food item I like much. If you ever want to eat a snack type dish but filled with non-veg; i would actually prefer you Shawarma. Most Delicious food item I have ever ever eaten. Its every bite is yumm. Its a heavy diet roll. what i felt is, its a not that healthy food.

Basically Shawarma is a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are placed on a spit (commonly a vertical spit in restaurants), and may be grilled for as long as a day. Shawarma (Arabic: شاورما‎; in Hebrew: שווארמה‎) is a meat sandwich eaten by people in the Middle East. It is served in round Arabic bread with meat and vegetables, with some spice or sauce of choice, in it. Normally, the meat can either be lamb, beef, turkey, or chicken. It was Invented in Turkey in the 18th or 19th century, doner kebab means “rotating grilled meat.” When it was introduced to Greece, the locals named it “gyros,” the Greek word for “turn.” Likewise, when it spread through the Middle East, it was called “shawarma,” an Arabic word for “turning.” More specifically,Israeli shawarma restaurants swear by dark meat of a female turkey, whose meat is more tender than the male's. It is called a Gyro in Greek culture, a Shawarma in Lebanese/Middle Eastern, and Donair in Turkish traditions. The meat is placed on a spit and is grilled. The fatty parts ensure the meat stays juicy. The Shawarma meat is typically prepared from the Halal meat, such as lamb, beef, and chicken. However, doner kebab meat is typically placed in a flatbread like a pita or a lavash and topped with salads or vegetables including cabbage, pickled cucumber, chili or onion with sumac rather than sauces. True shawarma is cooked with stacked, spice-marinated meats– lamb, turkey, chicken, beef, or a mix of meats– on a vertical spit. The shawarma turns and cooks on the spit for hours and hours, basted in fat and its own juices. This spiced, marinated meat is often a fattier cut of lamb, beef, veal or chicken that's further marinated in more fat. Thanks to its less-than-healthy cooking method, shawarmas typically run in the 600-calorie neighborhood, once you've added in the pita and sauces. Skip it to maintain your toned flat stomach. Chicken shawarma is healthy and safe to eat. It contains no fat because it is fat-based eat.

Whereas, a chicken shawarma

offers 15g of fat and 400 calories that are 24% of a person's daily intake of calories.
